The Endowment for the Seminary

"Our dynamic program of human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation continues to nurture those who will shepherd us for years to come."

Rev. Msgr. Peter G. Finn
Rector
Saint Joseph's Seminary

Since 1886, our Archdiocese has enjoyed a strong history of excellence in forming men for the priesthood through Saint Joseph's Seminary, the Saint John Neumann Residence and Hall, and the Vocations Office.  Recognizing the value of the instruction offered by this venerable institution over the past decade, dedicated believers planted the seeds of an endowment for the Seminary.

Today, while the Seminary benefits from the initial efforts of these generous individuals, additional support is needed to ensure that capital improvements may continue to be made so that the Seminary may maintain its standard of excellence.  Specifically, these improvements include renovations of the chapel, refectory, prayer hall, student living quarters, and the installation of a central air conditioning system for the library, which houses many rare editions of theological texts.  In addition, the completion of endowed chairs will benefit the theological disciplines.

The future of our Church requires that we ensure that the opportunity to answer God's call is made available to men of all backgrounds and financial needs.  Through an increase to this endowment, we will enhance our ability to maintain and strengthen the tuition-free endowment of the Seminary while attracting the next generations of priests.
